Getting my Hair Rebonded

Oh my! I'm so nervous and excited at the same time because I'm going to the salon later and have my hair rebonded. Actually, this is really not my idea but I just went on with it.

I know you don't know that I have curly hair. And having it has consequences so you can't blame me for doing this.

Anyway, we (my mom and I) just went to the salon last Saturday and consulted to the barber and inquired stuff and like that. We figured out that it would take, like, 10 hours for this whole process to be over.

I want to be really prepared so this is what I did in preparation:

~dressed up in comfortable blue denim jeans and an oversized black tee and put on some flip-flops
~brought my Walkman and earphones
~brought my phone
~brought a favorite book
~brought the money (Haha, can't forget that, can I?)

So, I just dropped by here and I'm going to update how it went.

I just hope the process will go successfully and that the effect may be beautiful and long-lasting.

Have you had your hair rebonded? ;)

REVIEW: Careline Lip Balm in Strawberry Flavor

Hiya, you reader who is reading this!

Just to say some gibberish, I really, really am addicted to lip balms. At quite a young age, I'm buying different kinds of lip balms in the search of the perfect lippie for me. But... how disappointing, I'm still looking for it! The search is fun, anyway, so you may want to try searching for yours too.

Anyway, to the review...

I find this lip balm above the average. Quite moisturizing but still lacking something. It is tinted so if you don't want the slightly reddish color on your lips, you don't want to try this. But if you do, this is a goood lip balm to try out!

I don't find anything extraordinary in this lip balm, though. Just some ordinary lip balm.

I think this post clearly made no sense, but I'm just posting this because I really like posting these kind of stuff. (it makes me laugh) Hahaha

XD

REVIEW: Experiencing Kojie-san Soap

Hmmm... I guess the title's pretty dramatic. Oh well, might as well have a title than none. :D

Anyway, to the review, I really find Kojie-san quite okay for its price. I mean, sometimes you can be tricked because it's saying 50% off on the next soap but they didn't say you get both soaps in less grams that's why you really get less.

You might actually want to compute on that.

As I was saying, I find the quality of this soap mediocre because I didn't really experience any change will using this soap nor do I get compliments like others did when they use this one.

But I guess it's really up to the user or how the soap is compatible with one's skin. We don't really have the same skin type so you have to keep on looking for the right soap that matches yours! Oh yeah!

As for me, I have to get looking for my destined soap in that ocean of soaps in the market waiting to be bought. Warning. once you do, you might actually regret it. But, hey, it's better than not getting hygienic and all.

If ever you are wondering what effects I was looking for in my skin, I was looking for the whitening effect. You know how in the eastern part of the world, we seek that porcelain skin and we're just brainwashed here that having pale white skin is the most beautiful of them all. I can't really blame it on the Koreans because even Snow White, being "the fairest of them all", contributed to the thinking.

I do know I was being brainwashed but I can't just help it! Though I do find my brown skin quite adorable. So why do I seek for whitening, you say? Because I got tan! I don't want to be discolored like some old pair of jeans thrown away in the garbage. I don't want to look like trash because I have different shades of brown all over my body.

Enough for the explaining...

I also find this soap only making my skin drier and losing its moisture. Beware of using kojic acid-based soaps because they tend to wash off the moisture off your skin that you feel you just aged away in those minutes you took a bath.

In case you want to use this soap, I recommend you lather on some extra-moisturizing lotion afterwards

Don't judge me because I am not satisfied with this soap. I know how to make soap so don't judge me, 'kay? It was our Science project last year. Anyway, overall, I find this soap just okay.

Rating: 2/10

What did not work for me might work for you, so you might as well give it a try. :)

Why Curly-haired Gals Need to Exert Twice the Effort

So, this is my second post this evening and I really congratulate myself for making this.

I mean, SECOND POST?! Wow! I must be awarded!

Anyway, away from being O.A., I want to write about the experience of having curly hair all my life... and how I consider myself both lucky and unlucky at the same time.

I consider myself lucky because...
  • Curly hair is unique. You know, the same old I want to be unique and stand out from the crowd attitude. Everybody wants to be different from each other even though they already are! Although I must admit having curly hair is extraordinary... Really, I believe that.
  • Curly hair changes. Do not wash your hair and it will make a difference. Comb your hair and it will make a difference. Put your head in a towel and it will make a difference. Everything you do affects the way your locks will behave. (which is pretty challenging...)
  • Curly hair is unexpected. As it is often the case with different sets of outfits, so it is with curly hair. Even though you didn't get your hair done in a salon or cut or under a treatment, it changes- might go from ultra-fabulous to looks like some chicken scrawled at my head while I was walking to here.
And... I consider myself unlucky because...

  • I feel so limited. Having curly hair mean you can't get a short hair cut. Nor can you put just normal elastic bands since it will make your hair look tattered. It feels like I have a celebrity hair and its stuck with my other parts of my body a commoner. Feels so sad having only one part of me actually belong in a different world... (kind of dramatic, ain't it?)
  • I feel so tired. Take care of your hair or tie it up in a high bun just so people can't notice you haven't combed it for days. I did this, anyway, during summer vacation. Which is groosss, but I did it anyway.
  • I feel so haggard. Just running would make my hair look like that of a lion. It's crazy and I'm crazy and then my hair would make me look like I really am a crazy person with no stable mind. I'd like to think that  I am crazy but I don't want other people to think that. So... yeah.

I guess this is it then... Hope you empathized with me through out this blog post!

Leave comments if you read this, it'd mean big to me! :D

REVIEW: SkinWhite Face Cream Powder

Hi everyone!

I've been really quiet lately since I was thinking really hard whether or not to continue making reviews without pictures. And, seeing this post, you may know already what my decision is.

Although this is going to be really hard since we, humans, (including me... didn't I just say "we"?) are visual creatures. We yearn for thing to see and to observe and to make conclusions from.

Anyway, back to the review...

SkinWhite is really, I think, not the brand for me. If you have sensitive skin or oily skin, I don't recommend this for you.

In my first time of using this, my face felt so smooth and looked whiter than before. I really loved the coverage then.

It didn't worsen though until after my day is finally over.

But I observed that my face broke out! I had pimples and I really panicked over these small pink dots on my face.

I really enjoyed the experience but now, I'm thinking twice whether to still continue the usage or not.

But, I still think you should purchase it in a sachet and give the product a chance! :D

Adieu!

Becoming a Princess

Most of young girls who like fairy tales are consumed by the thought of being a true princess and being treated as a royalty. Well, we all can be.

Because each one of us has a King for a father. Wondering who that is? Or are you saying 'hey, my dad ain't a king! He's only this or that'. Well, what I said is true. We really have One.

Who else but our heavenly Father, God!

Are you wondering if He does even exist? Well, I didn't believe also, at first, because I can't see Him. But the naked eyes can be deceiving. How we see things are not really as it is. For example, the color of the sky is not really blue! It is any color but blue! If you don't believe me, research it and find the answers for yourself.

The image of God in the minds of other people who don't believe are distorted. They think that God is distant and angry and make us suffer for the bad things we've done. But, NO! God isn't like that! God is the complete expression of love! In fact, He's the source of all love and IS love!

He lives and exists today, as you read this!

He created you and me and wants a relationship with us! He doesn't want to take from us; He wants to give us everything we need and complete us and lavish us with His love for us!

But, because of the sin man made, we are separated from God. But God wants us to be with Him, so He made a way and sent His only Son, Jesus, to earth to die for the sins of all humanity.

He paid for your sins and my sins, so we can be reconciled and have a relationship with the Father! It is up to us to go tell God we admit being a sinner, receiving His forgiveness, and accepting Jesus as our only Lord and Savior! Jesus is the only way to the Father! He is the way, the truth, and the life!

Many times we become sad and seek and seek for that thing that would make us forever happy. But, we end up disappointed because we can't get that from the world or from the people you love the most. Only God can do that!

And, He promises you great things to those who believe!

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believe in Him shall not perish but have an everlasting life." John 3:16

Watch this and this will help you...

Note: After you receive God, don't let the fire in your heart for Him be put out. Take care of your relationship with Him. :)

Problem Alert: I don't have a camera!

Ugh... No matter how badly I want to start blogging about girly stuff I have and noticed, I can't!

I think things like those are really better talked about if we have visual aids, you know?

Then, what if I blog and not have pictures?

Hmmm... will that be okay?

I think not. Maybe, wait for a little while then?

I just want to tell everyone I'm not dead yet or anything. :)

The Good Side and Bad Side of Being a Girl (even though we pretty much enjoy being one)

Sure we don't have to court someone (it is a choice, still) and we don't have to work our backs off for a livelihood in the family, but we still have those things that sure are irksome and that boys don't experience.

THE GOOD SIDE
  1. Freedom of expression. We, girls, can get all clingy as we want... with other girls. Not with boys. Because if some girl is being extra friendly with a guy, chances are, she's a flirt. Or, she doesn't understand the beauty of girls, because if she does, she'll probably hang out with her own kind.
  2. Extra protection. Just like a fragile flower is a girl to her parents. Not that I'm exaggerating. If you're going out and it's like two blocks away from your door and they're like, bring this, bring that. But, at least, we're safe. No other protection beats that of a parent's. So don't hate them because they'll only want the good for their daughters (not sure for their sons).
  3. Our not being a guy? Not sure if this is really a good thing, but it counts now, I guess. The whim of wanting to be a guy exists now and then but it goes and stays away, enough to realize that being a girl is a good thing because I don't have to be a guy. But guys and gals are of equal importance.
THE BAD SIDE
  1. Competition. When you attend school or just stroll the streets, there's always competition. Not just with the girls but with everything, most particularly, the GIRLS...  Mostly, the bad side is this. Competing and comparing for the hair, nails, skintone, body, or boys? The last thing is disgusting because I really thought that only animals fight over a partner.
So, yeah, here they are! And I'm sure these are not the only things you can think of, but I just want to shorten this post because I don't really want to emphasize the downside of being a girl. Because, I like being a girl. I hope you do too! :)
